Do you only treat SPORT injuries since you are called SPORT Clinic of Greater Milwaukee?

SPORT Clinic of Greater Milwaukee treats all type of injuries. SPORT stands for Specialized Programs in Orthopedic Rehabilitation & Training. We treat patients from grade school to retirement.
 

Do you accept my insurance?

We will inform you if we are a participating provider for your plan. SPORT Clinic of Greater Milwaukee highly recommends that you contact your insurance to verify coverage, co-pays, deductibles, pre-certification or authorization requirements as well as to double check if we are a participating provider for your insurance plan.
 

Will my insurance cover Physical Therapy?

You would need to contact your insurance company to determine your Physical Therapy benefits. Every insurance policy is different. Even with benefits, physical therapy is based on medical necessity.
 

How long do I have to continue doing my exercises after therapy?

Most patients will need to continue exercises on a daily basis for the next few weeks and then can decrease the frequency to every few days or every other day. We emphasize that patients should never just stop doing their exercises when therapy is over. Your physical therapist will work out a specific home exercise program on your last visit to address your individual needs.
 

How long does a session last?

On the first visit, the therapist will evaluate your condition and begin your initial treatment plan. This first session is typically 1 ½ hours. Your follow up visits can vary from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours depending on the length of your individual treatment plan and your individual goals.
 

Do I need a prescription from my doctor for Physical Therapy?

SPORT Clinic of Greater Milwaukee recommends that you get a prescription from your doctor, specialist or chiropractor unless you were seen previously at our clinic for the same diagnosis. Prescriptions are often requested from insurance companies along with medical records before approving payment. Insurance coverage is based on medical necessity. Medicare requires you to have a prescription from a doctor before you can be treated and also requires an updated prescription every 90 days.
